Radiation induced bystander
effect, COX-2 and beyond |
Dr. Tom K. Hei
Professor, Center for Radiological Research,
College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University
One of the recent important findings in the field of radiation biology
is the induction of the bystander effects, in which non-irradiated
cells are affected by directly-irradiated cells. Dr. Hei is the pioneer
researcher who proved the bystander effects using the original technology
called particle microbeam irradiation. In this seminar Dr. Hei discusses
the significance of COX-2 pathway in radiation-induced bystander
effects. |
